I've been scouring the internet for a used "classic" compressor setup in the 80 gallon range with 17-25cfm and I just stumbled across a T30 with a model 253 pump. It has a 5hp 3 phase motor that will need to be replaced with a single phase motor, but the CFMs are what's throwing me off. I've seen several on the site mention that the 253 is a 25cfm pump? All I can find is 17cfm. Did they bump the motor up to a 7.5hp at one time to make it a 25cfm setup?

I'd love to know what year the pump is. Is there anyway I can find out? Serial number 531660

Thanks for any help.

The 253 compressor hasn’t been made in years. IIRC it was a 10HP compressor that could be run at a lower speed to match a 5 or 7.5 HP motor. Great machines especially at a lower RPM. If you contact IR or your local distributor and ask them for a data sheet they’ll send you one.

That looks like my compressor and the catalogues at the time listed 23@100#'s and 16.7(?)@175#'s [if my memory showed up for work today] Harry
