I've got two 3.0 batteries and one 1.5. So I have to buy the 5.0 in order to get "all" the torque out of this gun or will the 3.0 work fine?

I have the w5132 and the only difference I can notice between the 3.0 and 5.0 is longer runtime on the 5.0. If there's a difference at all in power it's not much.

This is what I was told when I asked the same question about DeWalt. An impact is typically used in short bursts, so I feel the higher amp hour cell should be reserved for a drill or other driver where you typically have more run time.

Where the big batteries matter is in something that has a continuous use like a vacuum cleaner, blower or saw. For something like an impact the only difference noticed will be in run time.

Are those numbers your posting volts? Probably not. They are amp/hours which is a measurement of power capacity. Think of it as the fuel capacity of your automobile. Whether you have a 1.5, 3, or 5 gallon tank your engine horsepower does not change, just the distance you can travel on a fill up.

Amp/hour or milliamp/hour is capacity. So all batteries will work fine assuming the tool can pull the amps it needs. And I would assume the manufacturer would make sure all the batteries can power it just the 5.0 will last longer in use. This turned out redundant because I forgot something I used to know that I was going to add in

If anything, it made your wallet lighter.

Eh, i don't know how much LESS power the 3.0 would provide but i also like having one battery for each tool and getting the W5132 i would want all the advantage i could have with it. I did put a 3.0 in it and that light is sweet!

Since I have four batteries and three tools the GJ forum requires me to order a IRTD5140. I like this reasoning.
Lol. I had a spare 3.0 that was taking up too much room in my drawer soI ordered a task light to put it in to keep it out of the way. And come to find out, I love it!

typically this would be where i would plug my own video. But i don't have such a video that proves the point that YES battery SIZE does matter. So here is a video from one of my Favorite tool review channels that proves SIZE does MATTER.

higher battery amp boosts torque power lets say by 15%... and its continuity lasts alil longer. I tried that on my ridgid miter saw.. 5.0 amp makes a huge difference comparing to 3.0 amp

Maybe I'll do a comparison. I wish I could find the boot. Ingersoll won't sell me one without a minimum order of 50$ and they haven't released them to vendors yet
