So i'm trying to find a replacement latch for the W7150 K2 case.
They're just a few bucks, but one vendor wants $45 to ship two of them, and the other vendor needs a minimum $75 order.

Anyone know of a better site to order them from?

Contact IR sales direct. They've always gone above and beyond for me

I did, but they referred me to Buckeye tool here in Ohio, and they don't actually have the item on their website, so you have to order it over the phone with a CC, something that I won't do for multiple security reasons.

So I found the air tool pro, and the minimum purchase was $75.

And flexibleassembly.com was $45 for shipping.

Which is ridiculous, considering I can buy the entire case for around $36.

So I thought i'd give this another shot to see if I could get through a transaction, and I found a toolpartsdirect.com that had them, and it was "only" $8.00 shipping.
Which still stinks, really. $16 total for two cheap latches that weigh a total of maybe an ounce.

It just seems so scattershot of IR to have marketed such an incredible impact tool in a case with latches that aren't worth a nickel.

I've used this tool MAYBE 20 times since I bought it new, and I am ultra careful about everything to the point of using a foam rubber mat to sit the tool on when i'm working on my car.

funny thing is I remember in the original thread here from 4 or 5 years ago, one of the guys who had already got his said he was worried about how cheap the latches are.

it completely boggles my mind how cheap those latches are.
basically an oval piece of plastic that bends in half each time you unlatch the case.
but you're right about the tool though, holy smokes that thing is a beast.

They must have changed the design then because mine are a hinge and latch assembly and not that typical plastic piece you're talking about.

well there's two hinges, and two latches.

the hinges are a typical sturdy build with metal pins.

the latches though are literally just an oval piece of very flimsy cheap plastic that bends nearly in half each time you unlatch it.
and from the first use, I knew it was poorly made.

but I could see where they might have had to redo the design on them, though. for anyone using the case on a regular basis, the failure rates must have been through the roof.

the vendor I ordered the latches from didn't even have them in stock 10 days later, so I cancelled the order.
I figured I might as well try customer support again, only this time I tried tech support first. it occurred to me if there had been a new latch designed, that they might be able to offer some info on where to find them.
he took my name and address and sent me the new designed latches, and they're perfect.
