Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Charles and I'm a forklift mechanic for the past 15years. I've been a member for a little bit. Never posted before, but I have a question as to what to do. I have a W7150 with 3 batteries and I'm looking for a 3/8 impact. I also have some M18 tools which are very good and durable. I loved the W7150, but just recently had to have it warrentied for no power. I used it almost daily in place of my air version. The warrenty was also about 4weeks:( I just question whether I should stick with IR or expand my M18 line. I respect the members of this forum and there opinions.

I think you are going to get pretty split opinions, many people here love the Milwaukee Fuel stuff (myself included) but plenty of others will tell you that you can't go wrong with IR. Given that you already have money invested in both battery platforms, I'd look at who has the better warranty, and seeing how your experience was with IR maybe you should drop by one of the local Milwaukee service centers and talk to them about the warranty process (i.e. how long the wait is for replacements, whether they perform repairs locally, etc.) I haven't had to warranty anything through Milwaukee yet, but if this is something you rely on every day it may be worth it to go with whomever has the faster turnaround time.

I was in the same place I went with the Milwaukee because of lighter weight, more torque, and amazing warranty you can't go wrong with the fuel setup

You've already got M18? ****, run with that. I can't say I personally know anyone who would buy IR (or Snap On, or whatever) cordless when they've already got a good one.

I have the Fuel 3/8" and love it. Never tried the IR, but it would have to beat the **** out of the Fuel to make it worth the price, not to mention having to have another battery system around.

I apparently stripped the transmission or something in my M12 Fuel impact driver a couple weeks ago, I haven't gotten around to sending it in under warranty yet, but hopefully it's as good as everyone says it is.

I appreciate the input guys. I'm contemplating selling my IR and just expanding my M18 line. I have the 1/4" impact driver that I've beat the snot out of and hasent let me down. I like the idea of the brushless fuel line of tools.
