I have had one since january when I left the shop I was at in PA. At that shop, we had a Ph3050. The 118Max hits as hard if not harder, and the trigger gives you much more control. VERY happy with the 118Max.

those who dont own one, will tell you to rest assure nothing hits like the 3050. A few will claim to used some miscellaneous IR, or the short stroke and make the same claim.

I will agree with them to one extent. It "doesnt hit like the 3050". It definitely hits better when any degree of control is required.

How is the weight and vibration compared to the Snap On one? I have an older Mac one that I bought in 2000 than I am looking to change out due to weight and vibration.

It's big so there's some weight there, but I don't believe it's heavier than the Snappy. Not by much if any. Vibration? What's that? The 118Max has the same rubber composite type handle that the QT impacts do, and this absorbs a LOT of the vibrations. It's really smooth in the hand.

I've had one about 2 months now.
Kicks like a mule. Puts the high $ snappy hammer to shame.

Very good trigger control and comes with a quick change coupler in the kit.

You won't regret your purchase....

bought mine almost 2yrs ago.

watch out for the retainer set screws. consider using blue (removable) locktite on them.

the chisels are above "average" (stuff you can buy in local homeowner stores), but round out your selection with made in the usa old forge aka "mayhew" or ajax attachments from advanceauto/tooltopia/harry epsteins. A good hammer deserves good punches chisels cutters and driving attachments.

make sure its the 118, the 122 has less kick.
