Irwin auger bent

Any hope of getting this bit straight ?
Without a tang, it still holds well in a brace, or I use it with a drill in low gear.



Hard to see in the pic, but the tip runs out over a 1/4"
Aside from figuring out where and what direction the bend is, how would you suggest trying to get it straight ?

Heat ? How hot ? (Faint red...Dull red... Bright red)
Cool naturally ?
Quench then low reheat and cool naturally ?

Drill press and a dial indicator. Then in a vice and tap it straight. That short of a bit, and the slow speeds you indicate using, you can get away without heating it.
