Short report on the Irwin Bolt Grip bolt extractor sockets. These are the bomb when you have a rounded off bolt head in a location where you just can't get to it with other methods. These are sockets with a left hand spiral lobe inside that really grabs onto the bolt head no matte how chewed up it is. The spriral actually pulls the socket tighter onto the bolt head the harder you try to unscrew it. These are only usable on standard right hand threads of course. I had a bolt on the firewall down behind the block on my Honda Civic. I took two extensions and a swivel to get to it. The socket I was using slipped off rounding the head because I couldn't support it with my off hand, no way to get it in there. This thing locked onto the bolt head and sucked itself tighter as I twisted on it, no support needed. Hardened steel should last a lifetime. I have a full set off of Amazon.
