Wow. Looks like I'll have to visit Lowes on the way home tonight. There's absolutely no reference to those on Irwin's website.

Edit: I looked. Nothing at my Lowes.

They seem the same with minor changes such as the grips. Irwin moved alot of their pliers production to Taiwan now

No, not even remotely close. The Pliers Wrench being discussed in this thread has parallel action jaws. The ones you linked to not. The only similarity is the styling.

I bought them at $24 and $29 last December when they were first available at my Lowes. They are not bad, but I don't have a Knipex pliers wrench experience to compare them with. Now I see that they have a "new lower price" of $17 and $20. I have the feeling that they will soon be discontinued.

8" at Lowes

10" at Lowes

I wish that I had waited until now to buy them.

The styling isnt remotely close but they do appear to be parallel jaw and a similar mechanism. So you are not even remotely close with your comment.

I looked at them in person and wasnt impressed. Thought they might be good for chrome fittings but I've been doing it for years with a pair of 440s with tape on the jaws.
