I called the nearest Ace store yesterday, but they said they're not participating in the promo. Hate it when they do that. :(

Thanks. I'll be sure to go and pick up some stuff. I'm a sucker for clamps and could use some circular saw blades.

Gfercaks33,

Is that $5 off coupon you just received tied to your Ace Rewards membership?

If not, can you please take a picture of it and share it here?

Thanks,

Dave

For me they started on the 22nd.

With Ace it is always YMMV on when it starts and whether they will do it all.

The bigger franchises are better at following corporate sales than the small franchises.

Call ahead if in doubt.

Yeah, trust me, I'm better off just going there, They have the flyer last year, the 1/2 off deal, 5:00 at night the cashier don't know nothing about it.
I'm like thinking,
"You haven't been ringing these 1/2 off all day this all day?"
She had to get somebody over there to ask what I was talking about.
I'll take a ride up today.
Thanks for the Post.

I'll post a screen shot later, I don't know if it's numbered or not but I just show my phone to my ace and they override $5 off. My local one is also a west lake ace hardware.

They told me the register was taking $3.00 off the vise grips, but they were still coming up like $10.00.
I told them no.
They didn't have any fliers out (there remodeling) but she found some paper behind the counter, flier paper, told me Not till tomorrow. (the 24th)
So I'll probably get 1 each of the vise grips.
$4.00 a piece, thats not bad.
can't find my Ace card, but she used my phone number.

I picked up a 2-pack of the Quick Grip 6" clamps for $6 at a store in Glendale AZ last week. It was the last one they had, otherwise I would have gotten 3-4 sets.

This is probably a local thing, but my nearest Ace, Pleasant's Hardware, has a couple of endcaps with "Christmas Clearance" items at 50% off. There are Craftsman 12v impact drivers and some Gardner-Bender hardware as well as some weird stuff like single outlets and fishing pole lighters. They had two different GB Circuit Alert strippers--the GST-55M (10-18 awg) and the GST-224M (12-14 awg Romex). I picked up the latter for around $13.

It's a hassle at my stores. It seems that none of the stores here participate in what they call the "corporate sales".

The only work around is order online for store pickup.

But then it's a real hassle, because when I get the email that the order is ready at the store, and I print it out and go to the store... It takes them at least 20 minutes to even figure out how to do the store pickup, and usually have to go through at least 2 clerks and a store manager.

NOTE TO CASHIER: SCAN BARCODE

They must have a high opinion of their people.

I had a HD cashier try and scan my Lowes 10% off coupon, after me clearly telling her it was a Lowes coupon. She did it 3x, and said, "It's not coming up..." I said, "Maybe it's because it's a Lowes coupon and wouldn't be in your system? :dunno: She said, "That's not it..." Then scanned a 10% off coupon from a page in a book by the register, and handed me back my coupon. Fine by me...

OMG, I know, they don't have a clue.
Yeah, lol couldn't of had nothing to do with it.
I had the vise grip/clamp ad printed on a POS old piece of paper, with something on the back, (But it had a bar code) the young girl kept trying to scan it, even though I had already told here, it was just some old paper from something else.................LOL
They were all nice though.
Funny they didn't have any fliers though, like they didn't really want to promote it.

Picked up three of the quick grip clamps, a circular saw blade, and a set of folding saw horses for about $30.

Thanks OP

I feel sorry for you guys, the eggs I go to all of the employees are decent they may not be knowledgeable but they are very helpful and always on those sales and don't question the coupons.

I am still mad that I missed out on the craftsman tool I am still mad that I missed out on the craftsman tool rolls, last month my ace ran a 10 piece craftsman wrench set in a two role for $10 in both imperial and metric

Same here-seems they want the "corporate" exposure, purchasing power, franchise benefits, and advertising, but refuse to participate in "corporate" sales. (and then whine about people not "buying local" when their prices are too high...:dunno:)

Got 1 each of the vise grips and 2 of the quick clamps.
Somehow they get Y'a on the sales tax, charge Y'a tax on the price before the discount, But Thats OK. $17.64 all together, with Tax, comes to $4.41 each, OTD. Not bad.
Thanks OP
didn't try the printed $5.00 off coupon yet. Still got 2 days.

Damn you got low sales tax. Same thing here (2 of the quick grips and 1 of each of the locking pliers) but came out to 18.25 after tax. 8.2% tax is if remember right. 6.5% state followed by regional and city sales tax. Yay.

Still. Glad we can get 3 of each if we rally wanted to. It's not 3 of the selection.

I'm curious, is the limit of 3 tied to your ace card? Could I go in, buy 3 clamps, come back later, or go to a different ace and then buy 3 more clamps?

Wow, hadn't been in an Ace in forever, grabbed three bar clamps, did a little walking around, they still have a bunch of USA made Craftsman in there. They also said they would honor the Craftsman warranty, so I'll be swapping some old rusted up sockets with them tomorrow as well as trying to buy some more cheap as all hell clamps. Big thanks to the OP on this one.

Owner told me they (ace) told him (gave them hell) for honoring the craftsman warranty. he said he was going to look into it again though.
I had not took him too serious, I thought he was just a guy working there taking it all serious........................, My bad, cashier told me he was the new owner.

When deals like these are happening, I tend to go to the non-franchise store in our town (we have 2 franchise and 1 corp.).

I picked up 3 pairs of the vise grips for $4 each, and 2 of the Irwin speed clamps for $4 each. I almost bought a Fat Max tape, but it's hard to justify when I already have 4 tapes (2 1990's era Powerlocks and 2 HF ones).

You must not misplace as many as I seem to. I ended up buying another one. Too good of a deal to pass up when you keep losing them during projects.

I've tried other tape measures but like the Fat Max the best.

I picked up a couple of the Vise-Grips earlier. Not a bad price at $3.99 and I'm tempted to hit up another store that had one US made pair left a few days ago.
