Do you know the SKU (item number) for that particular set? It make it easy to check inventory online.

I'm disappointed. My home depot doesn't stock the two piece set. :(

Good find though, I was about to buy a few. I might check out a different home depot tomorrow. Any idea how long the deal lasts?

They were dusty as hell so I bet they were old stock. The were near the clearance section but not in it. May have just been this store. Only 4 pairs on the rack

My store had the rubber handles too. The clearance ones were off to the side hanging on a rack, not with the other pliers.. Just fyi

I bought a set of the right angle snips thinking i would find a use for them.... Two years later i took them out of my tool box an put them in storage. I have yet to find another brand of snip that i prefer over midwest though. Odd that HD carriers the right angle and several other products from Midwest but they dont carry offsets. Menards was stocking them for a bit but seems to have phased them out.

It seems the right angles would be great for overhead work, but my work is primarly shop fabricated work and architectual metal installation. Neither require overhead use of snips. if you find a good use for them please share as i would be interseted to see what capaicty others utilise them in.

Picked 10 of them up today at the Home Depot in Perrysburg, OH (Toledo area, off i75 on Fremont Pike). They still had a bunch left, I didn't clear them out. The tags say "Special Buy - $9.99" but they ring up at $5. The Home Depot where I live (Bowling Green, OH) doesn't seem to carry them.

My local HD had no twin packs of the vice grips either. They did have 5 each of the midwest right and left snips. I got one of each at that price. Wished they would have had the irwin's, though.

I stopped at another HD today to grab some more for my friends and again I didnt see them with the pliers and other vise grips. They had them on one of the ends of the isle in the tool corral. They are usually not with the pliers, but hanging alone elsewhere in the tool section. Look around. I grabbed 4 more pairs today. they still had 7-8 left.

I'll be looking for some tommorrow, as much as I hate China made stuff.

I hear ya, just too good of a deal to pass up. Plus being China made I won't mind using these for sacrificial purposes.

Unfortunately my home deport had none. They did have a bunch of husky pliers/snip sets for $5 and $8 I will say I was tempted.

Does anyone know how the Husky lifetime guaranty works?

Friend of mine is a manager in Cicero NY and told me somebody came in a couple hours before I called her and bought them out. She said he told her he saw a post on a forum. I want to say DAMN YOU!

Why? If someone can get these cheaper from feebay than anywhere else locally and the seller can make a buck it sounds like a win win to me.

It would get me mad too, but when you think about it that is the way the free world works.

this is just like the 3/4 drive craftsman socket sets, there was so many people that could use the tools and were basically begging for the socket sets and none to be had, because so many people had bought them and was and are still selling them on fleebay...Rich

I found them in Phillipsburg,NJ. They were not on the floor but in back and not slated to be out until the "fourth quarter". I noted to the guys who helped me that October is in the last quarter, but no, they corrected, in retail the last quarter starts in November. But they brought out six sets of them of the 48 they had. Thanks to the OP for posting sales slip. That made it easy for them to verify inventory. Took a bit longer for them to figure out that it was still in back. Possibly some stores are holding back until November to bring them out, but they rang up at $5 each. And I got 10% off for being retired military with id.

People selling items, materials, stocks, whatever for more than they bought them for sounds like normal business to me..

Just picked up 2 of these from my local HD. "Bob" found them in the back. He theorizes that they are holding them until Christmas and will set them up as part of that. I am going to keep checking and see if I can't catch them with a few more to use as gifts. These 2 sets are going in my tool kits.
