Just picked up 2 of these from my local HD. "Bob" found them in the back. He theorizes that they are holding them until Christmas and will set them up as part of that. I am going to keep checking and see if I can't catch them with a few more to use as gifts. These 2 sets are going in my tool kits.

I doubt they would be holding them till Christmas that seems kinda far. Maybe black friday

What I should have said was, they are holding them as part of their Christmas display. He said the team that sets that up should be there in the next week.
You know, it's a cliche now, but I can't believe the Christmas stuff gets set up before Halloween!

The HD in King of Prussia PA has a bunch of them in stock as of yesterday (20+). I just picked up one set as I didn't really need any more. Too cheap to pass up though!! Thanks to the OP for bringing light to this deal as I wouldn't have even looked for them.

The KoP store is actually where I saw them. Interesting that they still had a lot of them. I'm a little supprised they still had so many. Either people aren't buying them or they are restocking them.

Didn't notice the collegeville location. I was surprised too, but it probably has to due with the location of the clearance items. I have been in that HD probably 100 times and never ran across the clearance section. I was surprised there were so many as well.

I just checked fleebay, and there is 3 different people that has these sets for sale, It just kind of rubs me the wrong way, but I guess there is always people out there trying to make a buck off of some one else. I have another name for them but it would probally get me kicked off g.j. Rich.....

Found 1 seller listing them for $10.99 BIN with $5.35 shipping.....still cheaper than $21.57 + shipping from HD on-line for somebody in the sticks nowhere near an HD.

Online said $21 at my local store. In store they were marked $9 but once scanned they came to $5. I found them in the front of the store where they had all the Husky displays. I bought 4 and they're were about 10-12 more at the Palm Desert CA location.

The quality seems the same as my older ones.

Well, none out at Downers Grove store. Section next to the huskies didn't have them, and Irwin end cap at the end of the power tool aisle also struck out.
No one there seemed to have any idea of the clearance.

They are in some stores. Go to customer service with the UPC as shown in original posting (038548000374) Today I stopped by a Home Depot in Ft Walton Beach, FL 32548,and asked. They looked up the UPC and found their stock number which usually ties it to a specific location in the store. There is no location as yet. They sometimes refer to it as an orphan item. Anyway, we headed down the tool aisle, and I spotted an Irwin box high on a shelf with the stock number they use. I will have to get that number and add it to this post later. I pointed it out to them and they got it down with their ladder. Got six at $5 each less my military discount.

The box also was marked "do not display until night before event", but had no date of event. Price poster was inside with a $9 or so amount. They showed me their cost figure which was about the same. They had no idea why it had the $5 amount, but for now, that is what they go for. Good hunting.

The little hand held device that they look up the sku with, and shows them the location in the store, does not show the location. We found it 3 rows over from the tools.....with the same sticker, "do not display until day before event" she went up, opened it up and asked if I wanted the whole box...

She checked other stores and most were getting stocked with 23 or 24 a few stores were getting none. They showed up around the 10th of this month and are just sitting there...... Goto cashier, ask her to look up the UPC to see if it shows on hand number, from there they can find the sku. the sku (number previous poster said he would find) is on the outside of the box, and it has IRWIN plasterd on it.

I went to the store in West Nyack NY. They said that they had 24 but we searched and could not find them anywhere. The store manager tried to locate them as well with no success. They really tried to help me find them but no good. The sku number is 692-542 if anyone is interested.

ypsi HD hasd a full display, at least till the four guys working the tooldept. asked why i was grabbing a few of them, and i asked them to price check.
