This vintage pedestal Sears Roebuck, Command-air fan Model # 5900, with a Kenmore electric motor 1/16 hp. 1140rpm, single phase, 110/120, cat.no XAE44-15.

Their is 2 white wires going to the ground side of plug, and one red and a second brown/red wire going to the hot side of plug. Fan works fine when plug in to 110. Is it possible the fan has a 2 speed winding, or are all these extra wires for the 220 feeds? there is no switch on the fan now I want to put a switch back in the hole at the base of the motor that is now vacant?
