Is a blade with a negative rake the same as saying it has a negative hook?

Hello all. I've been looking for a negative hook blade with at least 60 (or more) teeth and I came across some that said they have a negative rake?? Is saying that a blade with a negative rake is the same as saying it has a negative hook? Also does anyone know where to get negative rake/negative hook blades that don't cost an arm and a leg?

I didn't look because I assume you have. I have not seen 'negative hook' blades and don't see the point. When the teeth go negative that should be enough for your purpose. For me, it was cutting AL extrusions which are dicey using a regular metal cutting blade. You likely don't need any set or much bevel either, but you didn't say what the use is.

Hook and rake are the same thing. Diablo makes them in 10 inch for under $60. Amana to last time I checked. The only thing to use on a RAS. Good luck.

Thanks everyone. I should have mentioned that I do have a Radial Arm saw. I don't use it too much but I know it's smarter to use the negative hook blade. I was guessing the negative 'rake' was the same thing but i wasn't sure. Right now my table saw is out of commission so I may have to cut some wood with the old RAS.
