Is a decent $300 drill press (mostly for wood) possible?

when I was researching for new benchtop dp the WEN 12" variable speed seemed like the way to go if I had the money. They used to have a 10" variable but they cleared them out cheap and I missed it.

From researching the bandsaw, Wen seems to have decent reviews from those who had realistic expectations of an inexpensive Chinese powertool.

There is always that guy who gives one star because he broke the tool doing something well beyond the capability of any tool of that size or because the clerk at the shop was an *** (like that has anything to do with the quality of the item).
