Is A ESCO RHFT the same as a Craftsman?

Same ratchet with a different handle. 10 clams sounds like a decent deal.

I've seen the 1/4 Eascos go for up around $30 on ebay lately, so $10 is a pretty good deal.

Yup. Well actually the question should be "Is the RHFT Craftsman the same as the EASCO?" since EASCO held the patent and produced 'em for Sears. Some also prefer the rounded handle over the squared of the Craftsman.

Does it matter what handle is on the Easco ratchet? The quality and ability to interchange mechanisms with Craftsman RHFT ratchets is the same?
I see two handle styles on eBay. (There may be more, only a couple of Easco ratchets on eBay currently.)

The "working" ends are all the same, only the handles/bodies vary.

$10 is way to much to pay.
I was in a thrift store yesterday.(the lady owns 3 and only buys mini storage units.) They sell thousands of tools. I passed up nice old Craftsman ratchets for $4.99 They were the V series, and others. That was for the 1/4" ratchet.
Then she gives everyone 25% off of the marked price. I have so many that I don't even look at them anymore. The 1/2" dive ratchets are only $6.99 when she has them. You would not believe the tool and tool box deals I have gotten from here through the years. I could have had the ratchet for $3.75 and I left it in the box on the counter.
I see the at the swapt meet now and then for $2 and 3 dollars. I only buy them when they are $1 each. I have gotten 4 this year for that price.
Then again I am very, very cheap when it comes to buying. I have everthing many times over and don't need another tool for my kingdom. LOL

The second one is not the same rhft. all of the easco, napa, kd and Allen rhft ratchets have the same handle.

Wish I lived near stocker. Easco made c-man ratchets in Gastonia, NC. Near Charrotte. Funny how 100s of the would show up at the swap at the speedway! Also the Allens are the same guts. Switch out the gears and you have a $25 C-man!

RHFT's don't seem to pop up as often as the teardrop POS ratchets. Just based on the fact that they are one of the better ratchets ever made, $10 is a small price to pay.

A third handle style is unique to the Armstrong version, namely Armstrong's sculpted and fully chromed handle.
Good point. I have the Armstrong version in 3/8 and 1/2, but I don't think they made it in a 1/4 drive.
