Here in London the olympics have really overtaken normal life, there are special olympic athlete and officials only car lanes. Shops near the stadiums cannot get deliverys during the day. But all that does not matter because the games have gripped the nation I have never seen anything bringing the uk together like this. There really is a sense of pride and unity. I live most of the year about 6 miles from the Olympic site and it has ben fantastic. But I have seen any posts on pople watching it or about the amazing athletes.

Watching when I can, Steve. Amazing athletes, many quite inspiring.

At the moment I'm upset with the French basketball tram's behavior in their last game with Spain. But overall the games have been great!

Look so forward to the Olympics. I take-in as many events as I can find time to watch. I love seeing people excell and realize the culmination of so many years of work.

As a soccer fan, I've been following the women's US National team since '96 in the Mia Hamm/l Brandy Chastain days. The current team in really incredible and the quarter final and gold medal matches were AWESOME!

You're lucky to be in the midst of it all -- take it in!

Been enjoying it a lot more than I thought i would. Lots of interesting stories surrounding the athletes...besides the 'thrill of victory and the agony of defeat'.

Been watching a bit here and there (as much as time allows). UK has been a great host! Unfortunately I think the US networks are doing a poor job of covering it, but I guess there are too many events and only so many broadcasting hours they want to commit to it.

Yes. Watched soccer mainly. I liked USA - Canada. I've not seen the final yet, I have it recorded. Too bad the men's team was not there...

Top nine comments (so far) made by NBC sports commentators (Some English??) during the London Summer Olympics that they might like to take back:

1. Weightlifting commentator: "This is Gregoriava from Bulgaria. I saw her ****** this morning during her warm up and it was amazing."

2. Dressage commentator: "This is really a lovely horse and I speak from personal experience since I once mounted her mother."

3. Paul Hamm, Gymnast: "I owe a lot to my parents, especially my mother and father."

4. Boxing Analyst: "Sure there have been injuries, and even some deaths in boxing, but none of them really that serious."

5. Softball announcer: "If history repeats itself, I should think we can expect the same thing again."

6. Basketball analyst: "He dribbles a lot and the opposition doesn't like it. In fact you can see it all over their faces."

7. At the rowing medal ceremony: "Ah, isn't that nice, the wife of the IOC president is hugging the cox of the British crew."

8. Soccer commentator: "Julian Dicks is everywhere. It's like they've got eleven Dicks on the field."

9. Tennis commentator: "One of the reasons Andy is playing so well is that, before the final round, his wife takes out his balls and kisses them".......

Working continuous 12 hr shifts throughout including the Paralympics yet to come. Enjoyed watching when I can, but really looking forward to the Paralympics - expect a few tears of sheer admiration for those guys and girls.

We have a guy (Peter Martin) living no more than 5 miles from us who has 7 paralympic medals including 4 golds over the last 3 Olympics. He does Javelin and shot put. Look out for him to win more.

I'm a bigger fan of the Winter Olympics but I have really enjoyed what I have been able to see, especially the track and field, volleyball and swimming events. I think London is doing a very good job.
