the woman is my mom, she coined the phrase " a car is a horrible investment"
the house has vinyl siding and replacement windows throughout, built in 55, they lived there til last year. the garage is a deep two car 25 x 40 or so. The old man built it in the 80s and loved trains. he had a 1/4 scale set up in the yard the grand kids could ride. the door has a stained glass train in the window, I'll leave that. But I am going to have to move some things around, like the supports in the middle. it has a little separate 3' door and enclosed area on the front (left side of picture) where the mower was stored, I may turn that into a bathroom.? I am thinking of moving the paneling and insulation in the ceiling to up against the roof to free up some storage. it has a gas heater in there now, it is very well insulated, but it hasn't been used since the mid 90s.
We close june 9, and have until august to move in, maybe between painting the inside and buffing the hardwood floor I can freshen up Mandom. Lots of little jobs need done in the house first, like light switches near doors instead of all in the hallway (who does that?!) and overhead lights centered in the room instead of a dangly chandolear in the corner (who does that?) and refinishing the kitchen.
Time to brag -here's the part for Californians- 1300 sq ft house, 1 car garage, big detached shop, a .4 acre lot, paved driveway with room for 15 cars to park, less than 120k.
