There's a hose bib you can't see in the lower left corner of that pic....I keep a hose line charged and ready JIC. I sit right inside on my couch and watch everything out the window :cheers:

There's some rust on the top lid of the firebox but so far the bottom is intact.

It's always BBQ season! I am a devout Weber fanatic, great quality long lasting product IMO. There's just something about grilling in the cold

Has anyone else run a gas line to their grill? I hate the idea of replacing propane periodically and find the convenience of just having immediate gas available to me incredible...

This is a great idea, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a method of locking the gas 'OFF'. I'm sure there are lockable valves out there. I wouldn't want some stranger walking up to my house, turning the gas on, and leaving a lit cigarette near by.

I don't really see an issue with this. The line is flex hose and runs underneath my deck and up through a small hole we put in the decking board up to my grill.

I do have a shutoff valve both at the point where it connects to my grill and downstairs in my basement. These are always open though.

I think this is going to be my next bbq buy, don't laugh it gets good reviews and suppose to be a charcoal miser when grilling too. I cant invest the $ in a real big green egg to sit outside with the rest of my grills and smokers so this may be the next addition.


BTW what is the top hat on those ugly drums made out of, looks like a giant funnel

I have one....its a great grill/mediocre smoker. It has to many air leaks in the firebox/damper. they can be modded to work much better. Its no BGE,but for the money I am happy with it.

+1 on it being BBQ season all rear round! Anyone who hasn't grilled or smoked while it's snowing isn't really a ******** BBQ enthusiast.

Agreed... I used to live up in the Sierra Nevadas near Lake Tahoe, and I'd throw on a jacket and fire up the charcoal grill year round. Sometimes with a couple feet of snow on the deck (which is handy for keeping your beer cold while grilling). Of course when the power goes out, that grill sure comes in handy for cooking or brewing coffee in an old tin coffeepot.
