Is it okay to mention eBay item here?

I put a antique tool item on eBay yesterday, and I wonder if it is acceptable to mention that auction here to fellow Garage Journal folks? I won't do so if it is considered to be impolite or disrespectful to do so.

I think its allowed in the classifieds section as long as in the Ebay auction it has a "Buy It NOW" price and not run as a your typical "Auction" setting. I would recomend trying the classifieds first, We have lots of guys who love to spend money on tools and you can stay away from the Ebay fee's.

Posting a link to an ebay auction you have no connection to thats interesting is fine with me. Pimping your own auction should at best go in the classifieds, otherwise it will get pesky.

Stuff in a sig I think is free game, totally up to the person who owns the sig. OTOH a sig with ebay links better be in a on topic post.

Okay guys, thanks. I'm glad I asked first. I would not intentionally do anything which is disliked by the users of GJ.

I tend to use eBay to sell things, because I often have no idea how to price it. Bidders will show you for certain what an item is worth. For example, I once sold a pocket knife on eBay which had been lying around in a drawer for years, and it stunned me by bringing nearly $700. But four other knives I sold at the same time brought about $20 apiece. I would never have known. But I really enjoy learning so much about my old tools on GJ, so I will not violate policies on purpose. That's why I asked. Thanks for your answers.

Ebay links have been allowed in this section of the site since I've been here, whether it's a link to your own auction where you have no BIN price (which I personally think is rude) or a link to a deal you think other members may be interested in. I didn't think it was so difficult to scroll over a few links. what about the members who have bought stuff from those links posted by other members? I guess they should miss out on the stuff they purchased so as not to inconvenience you.
