Garage is a 24X25 attached 2-car. It will be insulated before next winter. I've shown a picture of the heater that I have laying around from a previous garage below. There is extremely easy access to the gas line under the house that fuels the water heater now. It looks like I can come off of that line and run a straight shot of gas line to the garage, under the house. My idea was to run through the garage wall, 90* straight up and mount the heater on the wall. It is an open wall with nothing on it. My plan was to control it with a thermostat and in the winter try to keep the garage around 50* at all times, and heat it up a little if I planned on being out there working.
My plan would be to do the installation and plumbing myself and just have it tested to make sure I don't blow the place up.
Does this sound like a good plan for heat considering the space and needs I am shooting for? The biggest push toward this is that I've already got the heater, and I remember it doing very well in my dad's 2-car at their old house.
I also have a propane bottle mount Mr. Heater for if I really really needed an extra burst of heat in the winter while working.
