Ok, pics in a minute. They had some work done to it. The job was fine but the powers that be change and they want it painted. There are 2 kinds of jobs, I sent something similar out this last week and one nice thing about fab and paint is that a guy gets to tidy up and it all look like brand new. I get paid to cover it all up.
It would have been dandy if they brushed it on, its just psychological but its real,,, ha
Before I go to dinner I find a can of black, red and will brush on a little yellow on the scraper blades to get all the pieces the right color. I hate those jobs where they paint over everything.

I will take some of the signs off as well as the tool box. I think I might back the hoses out thru some hangers and hang them out of the way, save mask for some of it.

The paint is the easy part, the preparation that takes 90% of the time. And that’s what shows in the final work.

You probably know that.

You may know this but plastic wrap or tin foil, from the kitchen, is a quick masking item for something like what you are having to do.

Yes, going to foil. I need to sand some yet and remove some stuff. My big decision is if I want to use a small pot,, ha The big issue is getting the ambition to sand yet I dressed it with electric grinder for an hour, wire wheel for 1/2 and need to be friendly wit some 80 on a da for a while and hit the big flats.

My Bud does upholstery. He isn't cheap, he isn't outrageous but only one kind of job, good. I am good do good and jack the price on them a little. I am not really interested in the paint biz so I don't offer 2 levels of a job. That doesn't mean perfect or showcase and I will take a couple minutes at the end with a spray can to change it up. I thought about taking the springs off with air gun, would save masking. I was gonna make sure the studs are short enough to be able to use a common deep socket on, if not its zip with a hacksaw.
I unstick any adjustments and make sure its gonna work, if it doesn't. I had a weld on fitting the other day, I value added to it the fact the pieces and parts all laying there I put back together before doing a Weldon to make sure it was gonna fit.
I was working on a car and rotating and giving it a physical. I checked 1 caliper and had 1 tire on before I really wondered, did I check the other caliper. No one feels like it but I take it off, sure as shat its got a siezed bottom pin. We fixed it, found a part, I billed a 50$ hour to the one repair but the rest of it was dandy, great pad and rotor and now its working right without replacing every part in it and she didn't need to buy any parts.

If it was in the middle of the summer might even hit some of it in the corners with the blaster but I gonna bite the bullet with the DA and a little wire wheeling. I whiz it with 80and smooth and knock a little ruff rust off and blend the paint. Knock over any runs from any old work.
All the brown on the back is primer, been painted already. Going to whiz it with a sander about 2 papers a bay and shooter.

I been sanding 2 1/2 hrs. Actually my comp has been running since 3 or so. I got about another 3 to go and I might do it later tonight if I can get the ambition. I might turn my demand on, I actually forgot about it till I was well in. I have a 3 hp running and 200 gallons of tanks, I can run it down to about 90 or so and back up to 140 maybe and resume. I get a coffee a couple times and let it recharge while I rustle up some sandpaper and straighten out the back.
I am going to burn a couple papers for dinner yet, make me about half done sanding the beast.
Dang, sat here a minute too long, it shut off as I was looking for my dust mask.
