Is PVC conduit available in threaded *******?

Hi all,

Probably a beginner question - but I can't find anything from a google search.

I am working with PVC conduit for my outbuilding's service entrance. I know that there are threaded male adapters available for PVC conduit. But I am trying to connect the panel on the inside straight through to two different boxes on the outside (LB conduit body and an AC disconnect). The distance between the panel and the outside wall is, obviously, very short. If I use two male terminal adapters then the length of the conduit won't allow me to mount the conduit body and disconnect flush to the outside wall.

I know that with EMT you can use short threaded *******, and this seems like it would solve the problem I am having. But are threaded ******* available in PVC?

I found these, but although they are sch 80 and grey, I don't think they are UL listed for conduit (but maybe I'm wrong?):

Sorry if I'm being dense, but what is the solution here? Should I just use EMT conduit for the service entrance instead so that I can use the threaded *******?

Just use some chase ******* and be done with it

The conduit you linked to appears to be sprinkler pipe and not for electrical use

Chase ******* are metal, correct? So you are suggesting to get rid of the PVC conduit/fittings and LB and use all metal instead?

Not quite. The box adapter o.d. is the same size as the pipe and glues into a female fitting.

If the LB is back to back with the panel, glue the box adapter into the LB through the panel.
Or put a stub of PVC into the LB, add a coupling, and glue the box adapter to the coupling through the panel.

Another option, depending on what size of fitting or pipe you're using, is to use the next size up box adapter and a reducer. The reducer is about half the length of a coupling.
Example, 1/2 conduit -> 1/2 to 3/4 reducer -> panel -> 3/4 box adapter
This provides no sandwiching (locknut or shoulder) support to the panel, so it would need to be fitted up tight.

I picked up some PVC box adapters last night and they might work for both the LB and the disconnect. The thickness of the sheathing, rainscreen, siding, and standoffs is about 1.25 - 1.5", so in both cases I don't think I'll be able to fully insert the box adapter into the mating piece, but there should be enough surface area for the PVC cement to do its job.

I have trimmed a small amount off the hub of a threaded adapter before when I needed just a slightly closer fit.

Was thinking the electrical reducer was like a plumbing reducer coupling.
