Is RaceDeck TuffShield Too Reflective?

I have been looking at samples of regular diamond and TuffShield every day for the past week. I have eight tiles in total. Four royal blue and four graphite. Two of each style. Not sure I like the glare from the overhead lighting. Has anyone with TuffShield had any issues with this? Thanks.

Hi

Thanks for looking at RaceDeck. I can tell you that I am not aware of any customer calling us with a concern of being too reflective. The lighter colors in both the original and Tuffshield do through off more light in your shop, which is preferred by some.

I think I'm going to settle for regular RaceDeck. Thankfully no one saw me dropping screws on my four regular and four TuffShield tiles. I wanted to see how easily they were to find quickly. I found the reflective glare from the TuffShield kind of annoying. OCD for sure. Then again I have plenty of light. Ten two-tube 48" fixtures with LED bulbs in a 20' x 17'6" garage. Probably why I noticed the glare so even though I think TuffShield is nicer looking I think the regular might be a better fit.

This is a picture of my Racedeck floor being installed about 4 years ago. I have a lot of T8 lights above and have no problem with glare. After multiple cleanings and lots of use, the tiles loose their gloss but still look good.

How much gloss have you lost over four years? 50%? 100%?

I would put the gloss loss at about 10-15%. They aren't that glossy to begin with. The white ones are obviously the ones that show wear the most, but I am surprised by how well they have held up. A light mopping with an oil/degreaser is all you need to clean them.
