I thought it was only illegal in Ca. and one other state. Definitely not illegal in my state. They had it last year.

States keep changing what is allowed CA and NJ banned chlorinated versions but others have VOC limits. And the latest I've heard are OSHA regs on storage which may play into Lowes stocking or not.

While the original, best-selling CRC BRAKLEEN formula may be used in all states excluding California and New Jersey, some facilities restrict the use of chlorinated solvents. Non-chlorinated brake cleaners contain VOCs to replace some of the cleaning power lost when switching to non-chlorinated formulas. However, individual states have set varying limits on the use of VOCs. Consequently, CRC offers BRAKLEEN in eight formulas including regular and PRO SERIES versions of Non-Chlorinated – High VOC, Non-Chlorinated – Low VOC, Non-Chlorinated – Less than 10% VOC, and Non-Chlorinated – Ultra Low VOC formulas. This wide array of choices allows consumers and professionals to access the strongest possible brake parts cleaner while remaining compliant with local regulations.

Yep, CO has banned the good non-chlorinated of all things....I think it's CRC's 5088 but it might be the 5089 -- I can never remember. But for me it's available just across the state line in New Mexico.

I tried to get Zoro to ship me some but their system caught it.
