I would also suggest that no matter what inner tie rod tool you may get you should also have one like this

They are dirt cheap and will work where other tools can't like on round inner tie rods without flat sides for other tools to bite on. This is one of those $15 saved my *** kind of tools.

This guy has dealt with some garbage designs, and I second him. I have this tool and it has saved me as well. If I were to add one thing to that mix it's....

Also available in a Bahco flavor for the same price.

I don't know about the tie rod set, but I have been disappointed in their torx sockets.

Is there a specific brand of this tool that is better? A ton of different brands make pretty much the same thing.

There probably is, but I wouldn't know it. All the ones this style I looked at seemed to have pretty good reviews so I just took a gamble and bought the lowest priced one I could find after my inner tie rod set and nothing else I had would work. The one I bought was sold by ABN (auto body now) but doesn't have any markings on it at all. My hunch is most if not all of the brands selling these are made in the same Chinese factory but I don't know. Seems very cheap but worked really well the couple times I needed to use it.

I ordered one of these but havent got a chance to use it yet, but I hope it works. I have to do the inner tie rods on our PT Cruiser and they dont have any flats for a wrench.

I just ordered the ABN version since it had the most reviews but boy is this item available by many brands. I saw at least 10.

I have the Lisle 46800 inner tie rod kit, that is now out of production it seems. I have used it twice, takes some getting use to but worked both times I used it. Only came with 9 crows feet though, a newer version, Lisle 58100 now comes with 12. Not sure if the older crowfeet will work in the new version.

I was researching and looks like the crows feet part numbers from the 46800 are not the same like the 58100. So I think the 58100 is a full re design.

Figures...I probably will not use this enough to break a crowfeet, but if I do, it may be hard to find a replacement then. I was hoping the redesign was just to make the tube longer, I guess they (just speculation on my part) redesigned how the crowfeet insect into the tube as well.
