Is there a ceiling-mount heater that everyone agrees on is good?

I've been looking at the Modine Hot Dawg HD75 (60k btu) heater for my garage, but only because I'm unaware of any other products.

Stats:

-3+ car (~1000sqft)
-high (14ft) ceilings
-insulated walls & ceiling
-Nebraska winters (sub zero at times)
-would like tshirt/jeans
-natural gas already plumbed
-horizontal vent needed
-thermostat already wired

Any others I should be looking into? I want ceiling mounted, flush would be best.

I would also look at Mr. Heater's from www.northerntool.com. I got a 45kbtu for my garage. They also have a 75k. I recall them being cheaper than the modine's but also getting alot of good reviews from this and other sites.

I have a Mr. Heater, and it was problematic right out of the box. I contacted Mr. Heater, and they immediately sent me repair parts to resolve the problem. Mine might have been a fluke, but the service that I received from the company was first notch. I couldn't be happier with the unit now that it is working properly. The problem was that the circuit board got cracked during shipping. The fix took all of 5 minutes to resolve. No matter what brand you purchase, check it completely prior to putting it up. It is a lot easier to fix on the ground than it is on a ladder.

could have even been a quality control thing too. Glad to hear of the great service from mr. heater. Can't wait to get mine fired up!

I just installed a mr heater 75k at the end of September. I wish I would have ordered it a week later and saved 30% using Microsoft Live cashback.

I've had my 75K Mr. Heater for 3 years. It's awesome. There's nothing better than a warm shop when it's freezing outside.

I'm heating a 74x30 workshop with 11' ceilings with a pair of Mr. Heater Big Maxx propane units. They bring the ambient air temperature up to whatever you like in a matter of minutes....very pleased with their purchase from Northern Tool.

A link to my build thread: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11929&highlight=74x30

I have found that the heat tends to stay at the ceiling, and that I need to have a fan placed in the garage to circulate it down to the lower area. I have an 11' ceiling, and have the thermostat set 5' from the floor. If I don't use the fan, then the heater will keep cranking out heat until it satisfies the thermostat, and that just a few feet higher, the temperature is considerably degrees higher. I have the unit mounted close to the ceiling, and the louvers are pointed downward at a 30 degree angle to provide heat to the whole garage.. 28' x 38'.
