I want to get a 7 piece set of metric flexhead wrenches, is there any difference btw Craftsman and Gearwrench for the home putterer? Any other brands are above my pay grade for what these will be used for.

I have GW in non flexhead and they have worked fine,,opinions?

+1 on comfort. There’s nothing wrong with either brand, go with what feels best to you. Just to add to the confusion, I’ve got a set of DeWalt ratcheting combos in my work truck that are identical to the Craftsman and were about $10 cheaper.

i have metric and standard gear wrench flexs, both sets are sloppy/floppy messes, will be getting replaced shortly but they dont get used often so they are lower priority.

I have a standard set of GW and they are all over the place. A few are super sloppy, one barely moves. One of the ratcheting mechanisms locked up on the second use.

My 10 year old Kobalt set of metrics has been far better than the newer GW set despite having a whole lot more use

my GW flex set is over 10 years old and made in Taiwan, so this may be irrelevant. i'll say they are fine. consistent with the resistence of the flex and haven't locked up. however, i'm looking to replace them with icon since it's not a complete set and it drives me crazy.

Im not convinced their all that differents it's just do you want your midrange Taiwan/china tools in sbd or Apex flavors

There IS a difference in good wrenches; took my seldom used 10mm Stanley ratcheting wrench the other day and the open end felt way too loose, what the heck so I went and measured it: 10.55mm for the Stanley, 10.10 for the 10mm Stahlwille No 4.

The Stanley is way too loose and I'm not risking using it again.

Their are differences between good and bad tools but we're discussing mid range tools by major groups their all going to be fine
