Is there a lifting storage solution that has hard-locks when raised?

I'm finding a lot of ceiling-mounted storage lifts online, but they all just sit there swinging from their lifting cables when in the up position. Is there one that locks into a retaining system? This thing would be mounted above cars, and the idea of it just hanging from cables that are being held by some gear that may or may not be plastic doesn't do it for me.

That's the Racor, right? More recent reviews suggest they're making it cheaper now, and a couple mention it falling because of plastic load-bearing parts. Otherwise, that's the one I probably would have ended up with.

I must have the old version.
I've had two with approx 70-100 lb load and they've been solid.

I would make up some 1/16" aircraft cables with a bridle-snap on the end. Mount these (can be slightly slack) that tie into the ceiling structure and clip onto the metal tray grid when in the up position. Its just a backup safety cable in case its ever needed (e.g plastic parts fail under static load). Use until you get tired of pulling out the ladder to go up and pre-unclip them before lowering.

One could probably even use #10 awg stranded copper wire in lieu of a steel cable, that is pretty strong stuff. Its also a lot more likely the plastic parts would fail under dynamic loading...lifting...
