Is there a Milwaukee rep here?

With the amount of their products being discussed here, I'd think there's a rep here somewhere, perhaps silently lurking... I think it would be a great addition to the community here for some Q&A with a Milwaukee rep, visible to all.

My questions are:

I would like to know if/when a boot will be available for the 2763 impact?

Also, I've been looking at the cordless ratchets, but I don't want to commit to an existing one if there's a new, more powerful model coming down the pipeline in the foreseeable future.

PS, I did pose these questions, and a couple others directly to Milwaukee via their website, but these one's didn't get answered, or addressed at all.

I would like to inquire about a cost issue. I need to replace a fluke non contact infrared thermometer, as I have many m12 tools I was very interested in buying the 2276-20 but the cheapest price I can find the gun itself for is $168. This seems quite steep considering the closest competitor would be Dewalt with their own version the DCT414S1 retailing for $128 and it is an entire kit including the temp gun battery and charger whereas the 2276-20 includes only the tool itself no batteries or charger this is a very large difference for tools that have extremely similar specifications. Is there a specification difference that I am unaware of or am I paying a premium for a name? I am much more used to seeing Dewalt with inflated prices and am very disappointed to see such a large difference with Milwaukee. I switched from Hilti to Milwaukee because I believed I was getting similar quality for a much better price point but as the M12 and M18 line grows into the fuel brand the price seems to be greatly increasing and pricing me out of the Milwaukee line. I am a Generator Service technician and am very used to paying a premium for tooling but expect most brands with similar quality to be similar pricing. E.G. Snap On and Mac tools.

Its a superior product, thats why its worth more. Milwaukee is a lamborghini and dewalt is a porche.

what exactly do you want to hear from them? what processes their plants use? what they pay their employees? what their engineers are paid? there are a thousand things that determine the price of a product, one of them being what people will pay for it while keeping it competitive. if you read the boards here for 10 minutes you'd find that a lot of people prefer milwaukee over dewalt which would be enough to sell them for that much more.

Here's what I can tell you:

1: Milwaukee will not give you ANY info on products in the works, PERIOD! I don't give a damn if they are planning the announcement the next day, unless you are invited to the product symposium and agree to non-disclosure, you'll find out when everyone else does.

2: Milwaukee will not essentially throw their distributors under the bus on a price question. Milwaukee's M12 line is far superior to Dewalt's. Exactly how much that's worth to you all depends on you.

3: Have you ever seen a boot for a cordless impact?

Additionally, the M12 rats are nice. Brushless is a bigger benefit on some tools more than others. A low speed, low torque, tool like a ratchet is not what I would consider a high benefit tool.

Buy a truck brand if you want a salesperson to blow you with ******** information. Milwaukee puts out a damn good product, with the best warranty on the market for any cordless tool and battery. You won't be getting any insider info through here or anywhere else, that's just how it goes.

Yes, I have seen boots for cordless impacts, apparently you have not. I am not the only one who wants one for the Milwaukee product. In their target market for the 2763, it is a common accessory.

I'd love it if they made boots I have the m12 3/8 the m18 3/8 and the m18 1/2 wrenches and would buy a boot for all. I don't think its out of the question at all they are probably coming soon

Considering they never made boots for the non fuel impacts that techs were using I doubt they will for the fuel. I have been wrong before and will be wrong again but I don't see it happening.

Milwaukee is not a touchy feely feel good outfit. A little of it would have helped them. They tried a forum but wanted it all to sound like a paid review. It needed a spin like the Hobart site.
I bought 28 v and early on and suggested a grinder but they pretty much said I was delusional,,didn't know how to run one.

The tooling has been great, I had one warranty issue I had trouble with when a product was new (an active forum would have helped) I don't care a whole lot for the grinder but the drill motors are great. They were priced right then, dealer sold, lots of them worked out to be lifetime units and obsolessed way before they were worn out. I got 2 brand new 1/2 drills I have had for over 20 yrs.

They had a forum, as I recall I was on it, mentioned I just bought 1000's of dollars new stuff and so impressed I was giggling but did anyone else have a broken belt clip etc and they delete the thread. This was quite a while ago though. I don't feel robbed when I pay the price for their tools, every yellow tool I have had is gone, every red one still works although the real rubber cord is for sheet, I would like to find a cheap plastic knockoff.

If i were a power tool rep i would not want to log on to GJ and go back to work. Help someone with product knowledge...yes. Sell them on a brand i do not get a commission for...probably not the best time spent on here .
