Finishing up some drywall work on the garage walls - and when the times come to paint, I was hoping to have some light kinda textured look

Not the "pulled" look, not necessarily the "popcorn" finish - maybe something close to the "orange peel" look.

I know you can get different effects from a paint gun (like "Splattered" paint) but I was hoping there was a roller I could use with just paint

(I know you can use a roller and mud, just looking for something a little easier)

I have a couple of cans of Kilz left over from a different project, so I was planning on laying a coat of Kilz down for basic coverage, then going over a 2nd coat with some kind of textured finish - again, hoping to use just paint

So .... is there such an animal ? Have you used it ???
Got pics ?????

You can get rollers at any paint or big box store that look kinda like sponges to do some sort of texturing. Not sure if it requires special paint or not.

Don't ask.
I tried the Behr textured paint. Miserable experience. 2 coats and it looked like hell. Called them. Per their suggestion I did 2 more coats at half the advertised coverage (using twice as much paint). Still looked uneven in texture and color.
You can add sand to most paints for a sand finish. For an orange peel effect just use a thick nap roller.

You could use a sponge. I have done that several times for a different look. Looks pretty cool if you use 2 different colors over a base color.
