Is there a tool for cleaning corrosion from a stud type deep cell battery terminal?

Google and Amazon seem to be failing me. I'm looking for some kind of a wire brush that would have a hole in the center to accommodate the 5/16 threaded stud and clean the flat section of the terminal where the battery cables touch when secured.

A wheel stud cleaner might be what you're looking for. I think there are other brands of these, but this is the one I've seen guys have and use.

EDIT: As far as being able to clean the flat section, maybe combine it with a Roloc-style brake hub cleaner. I've always used the O.G. 3M scotch-brite version.

There are many other brands making similar versions now, some for less than half the price.

And perhaps someone makes a tool that combines both of these into one, which sounds like what you're wanting one to do. I'd be kind of surprised if someone doesn't, but if so I'm not familiar with it.

I didn't know there were batteries that used something other than the post or a bolt, aside from lawn and garden. Oh, I forgot marine batteries use that.

Baking soda in some hot water always works for me to clean batteries though. Clear water rinse as suggested above. If it needs a mechanical touch, a normal toothbrush sized wire brush should be plenty.

Since you asked for it though...

After you use baking soda, just take a die grinde/Dremel with small wheel, and buzz around the stud.

I'm actually asking if there is a tool to clean the flat section on a stud type terminal as that is where the cable actually touches.

yes. a wire brush, with baking soda and water or cocola juice.
a few strokes and you're done (that's what she said!)

or find a wire cup brush with a small inside opening.
something like this with a hole in the middle, or trim out the bristles yourself.
you don't want to be real aggressive, its only lead.

That's exactly what the hub surface cleaner kits would do that I linked above. I use them with a die grinder on rusty wheel hubs, the part around the stud that I can't reach with a regular roloc disc, and they clean them shiny in a few seconds. Can also use them in a drill,

At the Amazon link I posted there's the 3M and OTC kits that cost $50 or thereabouts all the way down to a Titan kits for $17 (for use with an impact), and several choices in between. All look to do about the same thing.

I would never use a powered brush on a battery terminal. Lead is very soft and can be damaged just looking at it wrong. I use a brass bristle toothbrush.
