I pop into my local Sears every now and then, hoping to catch a Knipex deal like that. It hasn't happened yet though.

All of the open stock USA wrenches and sockets have quickly disappeared for overseas stuff, but I still go and see whats left of the rebranded stuff; Wilde/Mayhew (pry bars, scrapers), Ullman (picks), Western Forge (pliers, punches, chisels, screwdrivers). While I'm there I usually grab a pack or two of studs for the plastic VIM/Craftsman socket rails.

Go to sears dot com, type in knipex then sort by price. You won't find a deal quite like SweetD posted but a few are marked down pretty nicely. If you have SYW points and or coupons, you can get some at really good prices.

I know the feeling, most of my local stores have been picked clean on the clearance automotive stuff. I did snag a USA craftsman hone for $10.50 on clearance and a steering wheel puller for $10.00 Went in yesterday in a pinch to try and grab a balancer puller since my brother needed one for a side job, but it was out of stock and a new model popped up online when I checked with their computer. None on the shelves yet. Looks like they dropped the rest of the usa sourced specialty tools for the most part.

I have like $60 buck in points to burn too not including all the SP points they have been sending me.. Wanted the pro pick set, but no stock anywhere near me. The 48pc rethread kits haven't been online in almost a month now also other wise I would have got another one and I all ready have all the knipex tools they carry. Guess it time to grab some witte.

Whats the deal with he rebranded gearwrench stuff, nothing like those on the shelves here, Just some poor copy china snap rings that replaces the 2pc clearance set.

This is clearly why the term "First World Problem" was created.

There's no doubt about that. But if you're looking for quality stuff at prices that make it worth spending money on things you could maybe live without, the pickin's are getting a little slim at Sears. Even with 40 percent off, most things I actually want can be bought for the same price or cheaper elsewhere. And it narrows down even more for me since I don't have a B&M Sears anywhere convenient. That means I'm looking for ships free items or having to order enough to qualify for free shipping.

The 48pc kits won't show for me only 40pc kits for some reason, Not that I need another one. I Have to go out of state for a family function coming up so I found a store on the way with the pick set showing in stock and snagged that for points only.

I bought this Nupla hand drilling hammer at the "local" Sears Hardware. I noticed there was a larger plastic faced dead blow mallet branded Craftsman USA on the shelf. It is made by Nupla. It has an identical grip with a red fiberglass handle. I was surprised because it is one of 3 places local I know of that sells Nupla hammers.
