Is this a Blackhawk Jack?

I found this in the basement of my house after I bought it. The sticker is completely destroyed, but a 'K' can be seen in the second pic. A small J-M1 can also be seen, though it's small and can't bee seen in the pic.

Also is that brass solder/braze factory or is that a repair?

Any info or even guesses would be appreciated.

Yank..that's what I thought (well, thought it was a homemade repair since it isn't the neatest job--wasn't aware of the fact that casted parts need not be brazed though), but I forgot to mention in the OP there was red paint on the brass--small specks, but original paint nonetheless.

Jammer--I don't need to use this jack--I have plenty of all types. Thanks for the warning though.

The old decal (what's left of it) appears to be Blackhawk.

lol no, Bull, not yet...did you get my PM a few days ago? You expressed the same concern and I said I was now just going for USA-made user stuff, not working on the collectible/rare stuff yet.

Laid off 3 years ago. I'm working, but not pulling down what I was. Wife's okay with my spending as long as it's useful. I have an 87 Dodge pickup I'm slowly restoring. As long as it's on the road, making dump runs or hardware store runs to make improvements to the house, I'm good. Same with my antique tractors--I plow with them, till with them, etc., I'm good. Now if I start dumping money into them to make them trailer queens, only show them and not use 'em, I'm in trouble. Same with tools. I can have 100 ratchets, as long as I use them. I start buying things to hang on walls, that' another matter lol

I'll put it this way--I find a BH board for wrenches at the swap meets and tractor shows, I'll grab it and use it for my user wrenches, since I have pegboard hung. I come across the hammer board and the other one you're looking for, I'll grab it for you--I can't use it, and even if I had the disposable $ for display pieces, I don't know where I'd put it (till I can afford to build a garage--my shop is in my basement).

Oh man, did we have a PM exchange already? I'm sorry! By way of excuse, I checked my PM box and count around 60-eighty messages from the last several days alone. I just can't remember it all, and plus you've got this new avatar tonight that I haven't connected with your account name.

Anyway, sorry, and thanks for the great news about keeping your eyes peeled for my missing boards. What can I look for for you?

No problem Bull--I just shot you a PM asking how to disassemble b'hawks for CLR. Yep, like so many other newbies who were innocently brought here after trying to research a tool find at a flea market,I got the fever bad.

It will only be a matter of time before you see a post by me that reads: 'Forging My Own Ratchet--Have Some Questions...'
