Is this a decent water filter for the sink?

Is there an easy to install, easy to maintenance filter setup that won't break the bank? I was thinking about this one, but it's list of stuff it filters ain't that long:

Maybe there's a better one somewhere in that price range? One you can also run the hot water through, and it won't hurt anything. Thanks!

Before you choose a filter take a sample of your water and send it off to analyze it. That way you will know what you need.

-Are you on a well or city water? Analysis of your water, as suggested by BillK above, is important. That under-the-sink filter may not be enough or it may get clogged every two weeks. You need to know what you're up against and determine what you're willing/need to do about it. I'm certainly no expert but I've had to do a fair bit to make my well water useable. A better description of your issues can get better answers.

I used a similar style, branded Apec. Works great and the filters tend to last 6-9 months. Water pressure is minimally impacted.

Don't run hot water through it... You shouldn't be drinking it or cooking with it anyway
