In my experience Pawn Shops are a rip-off. Nothing but fronts for loan sharking and money laundering!!

Prolly not what u wanna hear, but I'm sure you can find something very similar for half that on CL or Ebay - AFTER the holidays!

The good thing is with a pawn shop, you should be able to negotiate a bit. That cart looks similar to one I use (though mine has drawers all the way down), and it is most definitely, a good cart...

For $500 I would pass. $400 might be getting into the good deal area.

Honestly though I had one of those carts. I traded it in because it was too big and bulky to roll around the shop as a service cart. Also with the limited number of drawers, they dont hold a lot of tools for their foot print IMHO. If you need a box, dont buy it. If you need a service cart dont buy it. If you need a hodge podge of both with limitations then buy it.

I should add, I work between 6 different bays lined up in a row, so I travel with my cart alot and I also have to navigate through shop obstacles such as lifts , tire machines, and other techs carts.

I should have stated I'm not a professional. It would go in my home garage and be used to roll out in the driveway or around a car in the garage

I had one of those carts, they are nothing special. They look nice because they are so big, but mine started falling apart after three years rolling around an ag shop. I traded it off on a classic 60 while it was still sellable.

The Matco and Cornwell carts in that style are indeed the same cart with some trim differences between the brands. Good carts either way.

To the OP, for your purposes, if you get it at a good price, it will work great as intended. As I mentioned, I have a very similar model (also a Cornwell) with drawers all the way down. I am also a professional, working in a shop where I often "travel" bay to bay and around obstacles. With that in mind, my main use for it is to house my most often used tools; so I don't have to keep running back to my main toolbox. I don't use it to haul parts or "work" in, I have a smaller cart for that to serve as a portable workbench if needed. Considering the size and layout of the shop, I don't find its size too cumbersome. You have seen it I am sure, so you know how large it is; and as for reliability, my own experience has led to absolutely no problems in the past five years that I have used it daily. Of course, everyone may have different results and opinions based on their own needs and experiences...
