Hey guys,

First time poster, and have been EXTREMELY grateful I came across this site.. I've spent countless hours hopping from one subject to the other.

I'm in the market for a Post Frame shop building, and I've decided on a 30x50x12 building, with a 25ft roof extension off the gable end for a carport. Here is what I was quoted. I'm in Central Oklahoma if that matters.... Oh, and the 8ft garage door will be mid-way on the eave side.

DETAILED BUILDING PLANS

COST- $21,086

I've seen some buildings that these guys did, and I really liked the look of them. I'm far from a construction expert (or amateur for that matter), so i've been trying to educate myself to make the best informed decision that I can.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Looks reasonable to me, but really its your location that means everything. Whether or not you need permits, inspections, engineering or not. Wind and snow loads, etc. greatly influence the design and therefore material package.

That sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

I had nearly the same setup except 30' x 36' x 12' without the overhang quoted for $21,150. Mine was wooden post construction instead of scissor truss.

Thanks for the replies. rburke65, I agree. The more I read on the bubble wrap, the more I'm thinking it's a "heat/cold inhibitor", for lack of a better word. Still going to get hot/cold, just slows it down a bit.

Thanks again!
