I can get an 18 pc proto combination set (7MM-24MM) for around $400 with my discount I get through work, I am a fan of the proto wrenches and need a new set.

what do you guys think?

Good wrenches are not cheap and for that size ranges, it is not hard to spend that for top teir tools new. I would check online to see what other sell the same set for. Many places sell below manuf. sugguested price so do some checking to see if your discount is really any good. You're in Canada arn't you, any hook up to Gray tools?

I bought the sae version of that set a couple months ago on ebay for $107 shipped and they look new.I would shop a little more. The deals are out there.

yes I am in Canada so it's not as easy to get the big brands that are available in the states, I can get gray tools but only online, very few shops supply them in my area. Snap on is around but crazy expensive, though worth every penny, I just can't spend that on them right now. I can get a 15 or 16 pc set of gray metric and SAE for about $350 a set (not bad) from http://www.thetoolstore.ca/index.asp but I have no experience with the site and don't know anybody who does so I'm not sure if I want to spend that much on the website without any reviews
