hey guys, need some help, been lurking for a while and i know you guys know your stuff.

came across a top and bottom for 250 with tools. No idea whats in it but im thinking the empty boxes are worth more than 250 unless some one stuck a SO logo on 'em. which leads to 2 question:
1. are the boxes the real deal?
2. worth the 250?

also looking at a good 2 hr round trip

It's an SO box for sure but in this case Stack On not Snap On. Also overpriced for just the boxes.

1 real deal yes, real stack on
2 No not at all
3-not worth the trip either even if they were 75/100

Cheap toolboxes, and probably a bunch of cheap tools too. I see it all the time, stuff like this priced like truck brands when it's Walmart type quality.

It might have decent tools though.

Boxes are probably worth around 125-150 new. Basically craftsman lower end quality. For a home setup it's probably adequate. I use stack-on stuff (plastic bins), it's actually not bad at all; they're more known for their parts bin stuff which you can find at lowes and a couple other places. This is a consumer grade box.

It's going to depend on what's in the box tool wise and what those tools are worth to you. I doubt a guy that buys a stack on box will have snap on tools but it's possible he'd have craftsman usa, sk, older stanley, proto, and possibly mac, cornwell, or matco (specialty tools probably). Depends on the age of the tools and the dude buying them. There are lots of good tools without snap-on stamped on them you just have to know what you're looking at and what it's worth to you.
