First let me say welcome to this nutty place. Lots of knowledge as well as BS.

The easiest way to add a photo from your laptop or desktop is to "go advanced, then hit attachment at the top. It'll let you browse your downloaded photos"

attaching pictures is just like attaching one to an email. see the paperclip above where you are writing your posts? click on that and it will let you post up to 7 pictures one picture at a time. ok?

also Yost is a good vise and with all vises that are used check for cracks, broken off or missing pieces or weld repairs to make sure you are getting one that will give you years of use.

welcome to the Journal and hope you learn plenty and teach us some of the things you know too.

Thanks guys I see how to attach pictures now. As for the vise I am looking at a new one, but I'm on a budget and I didn't know if if it was worth 600$ for it but I just noticed on their website it says (Made in America) so now there's no question about the quality and I'm probably going to get it. Thanks again.

not sure if Jackson has much of a Craigslist following, but you might find an awesome old vise for maybe half or a third of what your new Yost would cost. if you were closer i'd have a few $250-$400 nice big old US made vises i could sell you because i'm almost done figuring out which ones i want to mount on my benches.

i spent a week down in your town in 2005 for Champions PGA golf tour school which was shortly after Katrina. Nice part of the world and friendly people too.

sorry i forgot MI means Michigan and not Mississippi, but i bet there are friendly people in your area too. also i remember one of our members posting pictures of all the vises being made at the Yost vise plant on the Vises of Garage Journal thread if you want to check it out. it's a dangerous thread to look at because a lot of good old vises on there.

You need to spend a lot of time looking thru "The Vises of Garage Journal". Lots of pages, lots of information and lots and lots of vise knowledge. There are so many brands of vises, just do a forum search on the various brands such as: Wilton, Parker, Reed, Yost and many others. And I would suggest doing this before spending $600 on a new vise. Lots of great vises on ebay for less than that.
