Anyone know if this is actually a Mac toolbox? It has a Mac sticker on the outside but I've always assumed someone put it on there. Thanks.

Good info. Who made them after 1979?

Mac, at least immediately after. Before 1979 Matco didn't sell tools, they made and sold toolboxes to Mac ( and maybe others). Mac informed Matco they were going to make their own boxes and Matco went into the tool business.

That's good info to know. I was misinformed thinking there was a Waterloo connection with Mac boxes. It could have been because I've seen Mac, Proto and older Craftsman with almost nearly identical configuration and construction. Also some of the older Mac boxes I've seen had same slides and clips that retained the drawers. Thanks again for the info.

I have a MAC roller with a 1970 date code and it has the same drawer pulls.

You can email MAC customer service about it -- they might confirm it for you and provide a model number. At least they did for me when I sent them an email with a photo.

Funny, the frame of your cabinet looks identical to the frame of my '64 Craftsman.

Everyone but Snap-on seems to have used the same clips and friction slides.
