so, is this a snap on or not??
when I first picked it up I was sure it was, but upon closer inspection it does not say snap on. its only markings is a number 1650841
I have included in the pic a snap on ratchet for compairison.
the quality of the crome seems up to SO quality. the shape and feel are SO.
so the question is, is it snap on?

I was wondering about it being a special order for a specific company. I thought that without the snap on name it would be sold no warranty

what number is on yours?

I have a Snap on 1658041 1/4" Breaker Bar which I acquired sometime during the 31 years I worked for IBM.
According to Worthpoint.com they were only manufactured for IBM.

Same way many of us found our way to GarageJournal. Google landed us here in a discussion about exactly what we were searching and we joined because we had a question or something to add to the discussion without noticing how old the thread was. In this case even though the OP's images are lost it definitely added to the discussion.

Yeah, it's an IBM part number - but the IBM manual does seem to note it is produced by snap on

For those interested in pictures, as it happens I have one of each right here.

The Snap On is a TM10F with an ‘87 date.

The IBM is identical aside from having a nice tether hole or hang hole. No date code on it.

Edit: Hello again 2009. :hellobye:
