Is this a tool? decoration? Or ?

My coworker sent me these pics. An interesting piece. What looks like a hammer head on one end and a hook on the other. But there’s no hole for a handle. We’re pretty stumped. It does look like it might be worn on the inside of the hook.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Looks like a hook choker, used on the mainline of a logging yarder.

EDIT: Spent a few minutes, found these...eBay...cable yarding choker
