yes its a tool around here called a shucking peg. it actually 3 of 'em captured on a key ring? used for hand shucking corn.

Thank you for the identification of these tools. I come from a third generation WI far and its time to sell. donate or restore many old tools. I may have to post more unidentified tools as I work through the dust. Thank you again.

its good 2 know a little about everything.... if possible. i'm partial to late 1800's early 1900's farming. those pegs were used up into the 50's, and collectible by hayseeds. they have huge national husking/shucking contest around the country every year. i been to reedsburg wi. on way to union center few years back.

Way I heard it, they used to have contests. A community get together, got some work done, every one enjoyed the dish to pass meal, and the lucky guy who found the ear with red kernels got to kiss the gal of his choice. Fights optional.
