Just saw this pop up for sale. Is it a C3? I have never seen the cutouts near the jaws.

It says the jaws are 6".

After looking at some other pics, I think this might be a 600. I have reached out to the seller to find out his price. Hopefully by not listing the model he does not know what he is selling.

several of the older big wilton vises had the screws coming in from the back to hold the jaws on. as far as I can tell you have a good vise there. asking price if you care to share?

before you buy it just pull out the front (dynamic) jaw to make sure nothing broken and you might check out the date made if you can wipe off the slide. i'm betting your seller knows more about this vise that you give him credit for because it looks like he's pretty handy.

good points:
1) big old US made Wilton
2) jaws look in great shape and meet perfectly at the top and sides
3) handle only has slight bend and swivel handle in great shape
4) end cap still looks rounded so probably didn't fall and hit the ground
5) it's a big old US Wilton and I can go on and on with this fact

i'd drop some serious change on this one if it checked out. good luck

Nope, that is a Wilton 600S, with the old style jaw attachment...

Helluva vise---

I assume it's already at your place awaiting its restoration---which you will document on the GJ "Vises" thread???

That is some great advise. I will post up the Price once I hear back. It is about an hour drive to check out, if the price is tempting.

i'd drive 4 hours each way if it was a decent price and I knew the seller wouldn't sell it while I was on my way. hard to find these big old Wiltons in good shape.

one thing also I forgot to mention. check the bottom of the swivel because a lot of these broke and were welded back together or replaced. my guess yours is ok since I don't see any damage on the front or back of your vise and it might be sitting on a pretty heavy stand.

check the bottom of the swivel by taking it off the stand, but try to get the stand too if you can carry it to your car. you can always modify if you don't like it 100% or sell it to someone that needs one if you have a big heavy bench to mount this vise to.
