Is this Bench Grinder a Baldor?

I'm 99% sure that this is a Baldor grinder, but someone has removed the ID plate. I would appreciate knowing the model number if anyone can identify it, for future parts orders.
The guy I bought it from said that they were tossing it out at work because they had gotten a new one. He plugged it in, took it home, and $30 later it's mine. I suspect that it's not a very old one, but it looks like it saw plenty of use and probably more than its share of abuse. It still works great, though. The eye shields and tool rests are still there, and even though the tool rests are stamped and folded, they are made from 1/8" thick steel. Any information on the originality of these parts and maybe even the approximate age would be appreciated as well.

I'm no expert but it looks like a Baldor to me. Not sure about color possibly a rebranded MAC? (Which was likely made by Baldor.) I believe shape of the discharge ports were used by Baldor i have to check mine to see if they are similar. Regardless nice grinder for $30.

Probably a Baldor...One way to see if it's a good quality unit, no matter the brand, is fire it up, let it come to speed for 30 seconds or so, then shut it off and time the spool down. A good unit will take a minute or more to spool down, assuming the bearings are good...

It is a Baldor. The sold red ones as a lower cost model for garages, etc.

I think MAC also sold a red Baldor.



Your model also has the cast iron wheel guards that exit in the rear.

The eye shields look like they may be some type of replacement?

Heres a pic of that model restored, this one is an older model. Yours has the on/off switch guard as part of the casting.

$30 is a steal!

I believe it's a Baldor. The cast iron wheel guards look like the ones on my Baldor grinder, purchased new 2018 give or take.

The current red models for the most part have aluminum wheel covers and sheet metal tool rests. There are exceptions to that. Otherwise they are the same basic unit.
