Is this box ok to use as a junktion box

Is this box ok to use as a junktion box? I need to reroute and extend a sectoin of Romex from one receptical to another. It can be done in the cellar where it will be accessable. I don't want to have someone see it later and tell me its the wrong box. It will only have 1 12/2 coming in and one going out.

No reason why not, it appears to have the correct cover with it, and it is plenty large enough for the wires you plan on putting in it.

I agree with Charles. Just make sure you staple your romex within six inches of where it enters the box.

That box has cable clamps so 12" is fine...

As long as the plastic grabs good. I had to restaple a couple of mine closer to the box after the inspector noticed the box was not holding the wire good enough.........maybe I damaged it during the wire run.

Also, some people BUST OUT the clamp "flap". Therefore, no clamp.

So, just push it through.
