Is this brass hammer wright or jh williams?

Hey guys, I have this 41 ounce brass hammer that I'm trying to identify.

The only markings on it are a series of Ws in hexagons on the handle. Chat gpt thinks either wright, or jh williams.

Have you guys seen these markings?

Upon closer look, it seems an arrow is going through the W, which I guess it could be flipped and be an arrow going through an M.

Looks shop made to me using an old punch or something for the handle that happened to have those markings.

I did find one other example of this mark, but it was also a mystery. I also found an electric company who made tools, non sparking hammers etc and their symbol is an M in hex with an arrow.

I found the logo. Its 1920s to 1940s. The logo is the weatherhead company logo from Cleveland ohio.

The hammer appears constructed professionally, so either weatherhead made, or a machinist made it using weatherhead stock part from a tubing tool of some sorts. This hammer did come out of the 1940s snap on machinist tool chest.

As has been mentioned, I'd wager the hammer was made by a machinist working at the Weatherhead plant, using a length of bar stock intended for their fittings.

^ I'd posit you very well may be correct. Weatherhead was not in the hammer business. They were in the brass fitting business. We carried the line in the early 1960s.
