Is this compressor passable?

I know 110volt compressors have some serious limitations, but that's all I'm wired for at the moment. Trying to find a decent used option without spending hundreds of dollars.

Someone on Craigslist locally has this - listed for $150 but said he will go down to $110

Anybody have this or thoughts on it?

Is it passable? Well that depends on what you're going to do with it. If it's for inflating bike tires and operating small air tools like a brad nailer or mini die grinder, it will probably be fine. If you're planning to use it with a disk sander or a tool that requires more air, it's probably not the compressor for you. The compressor looks like it's in good condition based on the picture. Still, I'd try to get the seller to lower the price a little bit more.

I had an HF 21 gallon that I used for blow gun mainly but it also worked for light usage with my 3" grinder / cut off wheel / small paint jobs. It was rated at 4.7 cfm @90psi.

I would like it to be even cheaper, but I doubt this seller is going to go under $100.

Thanks!

Oh, and my question is really more about the quality of this particular unit more than the power.

It looks like its belt drive?

It looks like a belt drive, which almost always means an oil lube pump. Check the oil. If the oil looks good, and it pumps up ok, it should be good.

If it's performance is the same as a new, it will pump from 0 to 120psi in about 3.5 minutes. Test it. If it can hit that mark +/- 30 seconds, that indicates proper performance. I'd try to push him to $100, but if he won't go, I'd still give $110 for it.
