Is this compressor pure garbage?

Cheers!

I saw this at my local Costco here in Canada. Looks sketch. I think it is one of those rebranded Snap On products that are tarnishing the snap on brand name.

I wouldn't say it's pure garbage. It's just a typical chinese oil-filled unit. If it fills your needs, then why not? The price seems a little high, but I haven't checked the exchange rate in a while.

It says Snap-on so it must be good!

Seriously, check Princess Auto. Their cheap house brand uses the same compressor unit. At $199 its ok for light duty. The dual regulators is a nice touch.

I had one of these for about 6 months, knowing it was a rebranded item didn't bother me much since companys do that sort of thing all the time. You would think that Snap On would have had some say to the quality/affordability this thing was manufactured with, but apparently not. What really bothered me was I seemed to get more compressor oil that came through the hose than air! I ended up s**t-canning it and got an Ingersoll Rand garagemate instead, I couldn't be happier with the IR... much quieter too...

I would save up for a better unit. If all you want to do is fill up tires then fine. I love how they put 4.1 CFM @ 90 psi on the box.

It seem like SO want a piece of HF pie. If SO want to compete in the low end of the market, why don't it just buyout HF instead of tarnishing its brand. Why not tarnish Bluepoint instead. It seem odd that SO would drag itself to HF level.
