Umm where are the ducts? That does not look right at all. I would go over that house with a fine toothed comb. Who knows what the original idiot has done.

Waiting on the home inspector.. just thought I would pose it to ya'll and see if im right..that there is some parts missing...The Ducting is under the floor, the parts that might or might not be missing are what would hold thefilters for the air intake

mobile home right...the filters are actually those mesh screen dealios, either in the door or on the furnace. The cold air return is the door. Very common to see that by the way...

Normally a furnace like that has a cold air return on the top. What is missing is the plenum. BUT, if you only have one cold air return in the house and it is in the door, then that is the way it will be. Actually when the plenum is on the top, it's kind of a pain to change the filters. At least this way it is simple.
If it is the house you want and the inspection goes well with the Home Inspector, negotiate a second opinion out of the current owner for a full furnace inspection.

Thanks ya'll. We really like the place, and yeah its a dbl wide. We'll see what the home inspector comes back with, and go from there.

Thanks again for the input everybody!

Those filters are on the AC A-coil. The A-coil should not be on the return side.

That is the way most Mobile Home units are installed. It is a down flow unit with the "closet it is in being the return air duct. It must have a vented door. You could add a return plenum with a filter rack or just close the door and not look at it and go work on something in that nice barn.....
